Welcome to SoilsWorldwide.net! This website, managed and run by Cranfield University's National Soil Resources Institute (NSRI), sets out to offer a definitive source of information on world soils, and is the home of the Soil Photographic Image Catalogue (SoilPIC).

Our task in building this website is to present thousands of soil profile and soil-landscapes photographs showing the diversity of soil variations from around the world, and to develop an inclusive and comprehensive series of categories for describing this vast and growing number of images. As this category list extends and as the site becomes fuller, we will post instructions on use here.
